Sports Pioneer and former FIFA International Referee Nagendranath Barman expired on Thursday morning at 5.30 am. He left behind his wife 3 daughters and 2 sons. He was also associated with other clubs like Maharana Club, Gauhati Town club, Hindu Muslim Club etc. Nagendranath Barman was also retired GMC senior officer.
Late Nagendranath Barman was a FIFA International Referee, Volleyball national referee, state sports pensioner, Hatigarh sports stadium-Ex president, GSA life member and Town club life member. Nagendranath Barman was also the first Assamese sports writer for football, Volleyball, badminton, basketball and carrom.
