Guwahati: An Assam Engineering College (AEC) student allegedly committed suicide at his paying guest (PG) accommodation in Guwahati on Wednesday.
The deceased identified as Salim Rajak who was a resident of Adabari Masjid area.
According to reports, Salim was studying civil engineer from 8th semester.
Reports claimed that Salim has been suffering from insomnia.
As per police, Salim hanged himself on June 7th. When his friends went seeking for him because he hadn’t returned their calls, he was recovered hanging inside his room.
Salim had been staying as a paying guest in front of Hostel 3 of the AEC, reports added.
It needs to be mentioned that the body of the deceased has been sent to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem.
