Successful Raid by Hailakandi Police Seizes Burmese Supari
Guwahati, 10th September: In a successful operation, the Hailakandi police in Assam conducted a raid targeting the illegal trade of Burmese supari (betel nut) on Saturday night.
The authorities intercepted a suspicious vehicle carrying 9 sacks weighing 500kg of this contraband substance. Despite a high-speed chase, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape. Efforts are on to nab the involved culprits.
The seized Burmese supari is estimated to have a market value of around Rs 8 lakh.
This operation represents a significant effort to combat the illicit trade of such substances.
