Swift Action by Sabroom Police: Six Bangladeshi Youths Apprehended near Border
Northeast Desk, 31st August: Authorities at the Sabroom Police Station in Tripura responded swiftly to confidential information indicating the presence of multiple Bangladeshi nationals near a small tea garden in Sabroom, situated close to the India-Bangladesh border.
Upon receiving this intelligence, Sub-Inspector Dhruba Majumdar and an undercover police team initiated a covert operation to capture the suspected individuals. The suspects attempted to evade the officers, leading to a dramatic pursuit within the tea garden premises.
Following an intense chase, law enforcement successfully apprehended six Bangladeshi youths, all residents of Chittagong, Bangladesh. They were subsequently taken to the Sabroom police station for further investigation.
The ongoing inquiry aims to determine the reasons behind their border crossing and entry into India. This incident raises concerns about border security measures, particularly the vigilance of the 109th and 96th Border Security Force (BSF) battalions in the Sabroom sub-division.
The Sabroom Police Station remains committed to addressing issues concerning the presence of Bangladeshi nationals and maintaining border security.
