Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin who impressed us with his debute performance opposite Rani Mukerji in ‘Mardaani’ is all set to stun us with his performance in Kabir Khan’s directorial, ’83.
ETimes recently got in touch with Tahir for an exclusive interation where the actor spoke at length about his role in the movie which features Ranveer Singh playing the lead role as Kapil dev. Talking about his role and the movie , Tahir said, “For me , ’83 was a film of experience. Some project we just do because you know you’re going to have a blast while shooting them. I was told that we are going to be moving to the UK and all going to be living in those real stadiums, practising the entire match on the real pitches, just exactly like the way the real cricketers did back in 1983 and I was like wow! A film on this scale being made is probably once in a lifetime and we are so fortunate that it was shot in a time when it was being shot because like that today it will be really hard because of travel restrictions and safty norms . It was amazing because Sunil Gavaskar was in London at the time we were shooting there and to have interactions with the person you’re playing and to be able to play such a sports legend and be coached by international level cricket coaches here in India , i think that’s one of the best think think . An actor gets to play all these different things and you get to experience the slice of that person’s life in that time period.”
Apart from ’83 , Tahir will be seen in a Romantic role opposite Tapse Pannu in ‘Looop Lapeta’ which is the remake of the German film . ‘Run Lola Run’.
