Telangana: Anumula Revanth Reddy to Take Oath as Chief Minister Today

National Desk, 7th December: In a momentous occasion, Anumula Revanth Reddy is scheduled to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Telangana today, marking a significant milestone in his political career.

The leader of the Indian National Congress, credited with steering the party to a historic victory in the state assembly elections, will officially assume office at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad precisely at 1:04 PM.

Revanth Reddy’s selection by the party high command, amidst intense speculation and leadership deliberations, over other senior contenders signals a new chapter for the Congress in Telangana. Notable figures, including former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, are expected to attend the ceremony, along with an estimated one lakh invited spectators.

The success of the Congress party under Revanth Reddy’s leadership is attributed to a campaign that promised “six guarantees,” resonating with the electorate. As he steps into his new role, Revanth Reddy faces the challenge of fulfilling these promises, including initiatives like free travel for women on state buses and substantial financial schemes for farmers and farm workers.

Revanth Reddy’s political journey, from his involvement with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) to becoming an independent MLC in 2007 and later joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), is marked by strategic decisions. His switch to the Congress party in 2017 and subsequent appointment as the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee in June 2021 further defined his political trajectory.

The oath-taking ceremony symbolizes not only a formality but also a testament to Revanth Reddy’s perseverance and the trust bestowed upon him by the people of Telangana and the Congress party. As he prepares to lead the state, all eyes are on how he will navigate challenges and guide Telangana towards a prosperous future.
