Thailand: Over 150 illegal Myanmar migrants apprehended in 1 day
Guwahati: More than 150 illegal Myanmar migrants were reportedly apprehended in a single day in Thailand.
Myanmar migrants attempting to cross the border were detained at several sites on January 22, according to the Thai Military Public Relations Department. According to Thai media, Myanmar migrants who attempted to cross the border illegally were apprehended in the provinces of Prachutkhiri, Kanchaneburi, and Tak.
As per the reports released by the Thai Military Public Relations Department, 16 illegal Myanmar migrants were apprehended at 1 a.m. on January 22 in Prachutkhirikan Province, 31 illegal Myanmar migrants were apprehended at 9 a.m. in Kanchenaburi Province, 30 illegal Myanmar migrants were apprehended at 5 p.m. in Kanchenaburi Province’s Htaungphu township, 22 illegal Myanmar migrants were apprehended at 7 p.m. in Kanchenaburi Province’s and, 27 illegal Myanmar migrants were arrested at 8pm respectively.
