‘The Elephant Whisperers’ Bags Oscar For Best Documentary Short Film

Guwahati: The documentary “Elephant Whisperers” won the “Best Documentary Short Film” award at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony on March 13, making history for India.

The documentary’s producer and director, Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga took the stage to accept the honour.

The films “Haul Out,” “How Do You Measure A Year?” were among those up for the award. The Martha Mitchell Effect, Stranger at the Gate, and Elephant Whisperers won the Academy Award earlier than any other film.

The film tells the tale of a family who took in two newborn elephants from Tamil Nadu’s Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.

Guneet Monga has bought the Academy Award for India two times.

Monga’s documentary “Period End of Sentence” won the Oscar for best documentary film in 2019.
