Traffic Restrictions Implemented for Vice President’s Visit to Guwahati

Guwahati, 12th February: In order to prioritize the safety of the public, especially vulnerable road users such as children, students, women, senior citizens, and differently-abled persons, as well as to facilitate the free passage of emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire tenders, the following restrictions on vehicle movement will be enforced during the visit of Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, to Guwahati on February 13.

Restrictions on Vehicle Movement:

  1. Commercial goods carrying vehicles with four wheels and above will be restricted from plying on NH-17, AT Road, D.G Road, M.G Road, Taibullah Road, B.Borooah Road, G.S Road, Panjabari Road, and NH-27 within Guwahati City from 8 AM to 10 PM on February 13, 2024.
  2. Commercial goods carrying vehicles with three wheels and above will face restrictions on NH 17, AT Road, D.G Road, M.G Road, Taibullah Road, B. Borooah Road, G.S Road, and Panjabari Road from 8 AM to 10 PM on February 13, 2024.
  3. The movement of city buses, ASTC buses, slow-moving vehicles, etc., will be regulated as per the prevailing traffic conditions in the city.

These measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow, minimize congestion, and guarantee the safety and security of all road users during the Vice President’s visit to Guwahati.
