Tripura CM paid homage freedom fighter Syama Prasad Mukherjee on his 120th birthday anniversary

The Chief Minister of Tripura, Biplob Kumar Dev paid homage to late freedom fighter Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee on his 120th birth anniversary. The Tripura state BJP vice-president Tinku Roy, BJP leader Kamal Dey and other BJP members were also present on the occasion which was held in the Department of Information and Culture, Agartala. Syama Prasad Mukherjee was known to be a great freedom fighter & politician from Tripura who served himself in freedom movement and also after Independence.

The West Tripura MP Pratima Bhoumik also payed tribute and homage to the founder of Jana Sangh and a great freedom fighter at her residence itself. She lauded the courage of the great leader and also praised his will & power that he possessed during the fight against the British. Pratima Bhoumik also appreciated his works towards the society and as an great academian he changed the education system in that period of time.

Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was a great politician, barrister, freedom fighter and an academician. He was known as Bharat Kesari in Tripura and the country. He also served as the Minister for Industry and Supply in Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s cabinet. After falling out with Nehru, he founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh which gave roots to the current Bharatiya Janata Party.
