Two Abducted Drivers Rescued In Manipur

Guwahati: Two truck drivers along with their truck who was allegedly abducted by suspected National Socialist Council of Nagaland – Khaplang (NSCN-K) cadres in Manipur have been freed safely.

According to reports, NSCN (K) militants allegedly abducted two truck drivers from the Kaiphundai area in Tamenglong district and ‘seized’ the FCI goods-laden lorries on Thursday.

The two truck drivers have been identified as Brajmani Singh is the resident of the Imphal East district and Chafer Uddin of Guwahati’s Hatigaon.

Meanwhile, they managed to reach the Jiribam district of Manipur on Friday evening.

It needs to be mentioned that the truck (MN019223) was carrying food corporation of India (FCI) rice bags (330 nos) from Guwahati to Imphal.

However, they were rescued by Jiribam Police, Manipur Police Battalion, and 39 Assam Rifles on Friday.

The two truck drivers are currently being questioned by the police.
