Guwahati: Two absconding drug smugglers from Assam were arrested in Lungeli district of Mizoram.
The duo identified as Sajid Ahmed and Abdul Motil.
According to reports, the duo is a resident of Dhalchurra Kitte Keuti village located in Patharkandi subdivision of Karimganj district.
Lunglei district police informed that based on specific input two persons wanted in connection with Dholai police station Case under sections 22(c)/29 NDPS Act were arrested by Lunglei Police at Lunglei, Serkawn while boarding in one vehicle on Monday evening.
According to a senior Lunglei district police official, the Assam Police team will attempt to take custody of the arrested wanted persons.
“We are also ascertaining their involvements in cases in our state too,” he said.
