Two arrested with fake gold artifact in Assam’s Lakhimpur

Guwahati: Two persons has been arrested by the Assam Police and recovered a broken artifact made of fake gold from North Lakhimpur district of Assam on Sunday.

The incident took place at Pukhuri Paria village in Laluk town of the district.

The arrested persons identified as Idris Ali and Faruk Abdulla. Both of them is a resident from Dharmapur under Laluk Police Station.

According to reports, villagers caught the two persons with the fake gold artifact–the typical Jesus on Cross, the common representation of the illicit trade of Lakhimpur’s Laluk-Bangalmora area.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the matter is underway.

It needs to noted that many of them have been arrested several times in connection with fake gold, but that did not deter them from duping unsuspecting people.
