Two insurgents held in separate operations in Manipur
Guwahati: Two insurgents belonging to the Manipur Tribal Revolutionary Army (MTRA) and UNLF from Imphal East and Imphal West has been apprehended by security forces in a joint operation.
The joint team of Manipur police and troopers of Assam Rifles nabbed the two cadres.
Based on the intelligence inputs about the presence of an active cadre of MTRA, the security forces launched an operation and arrested the cadre from Poumai Colony in Imphal East.
In a seperate operation, Assam Rifles troops along with Manipur police arrested an active cadre of proscribed group UNLF from Iroisemba in Imphal West.
However, the duo was handed over to Heingang and Lamphel Police Station and further investigation into the matter is underway.
