Two Myanmar Nationals Arrested in Mizoram with Heroin Worth More Than Rs 60 lakh

Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs, two Myanmar nationals were arrested by security forces and seized heroin from their possession in Aizawl district of Mizoram.

Based on specific input, Assam Rifles along with Special Narcotics Police Station CID (Crime), Aizawl in a joint operation arrested the accused.

During the operation, 11 soap cases (126.650 grams) of heroin worth Rs 63,32,000 were recovered by the forces.

Both of them were arrested in Thuampui of Aizawl.

The arrestees identified as Chinlamkham (18) and Thangsialkhual (18) both residents of Tiddim in Myanmar.

The seized goods and arrested people were handed to the Special Narcotics Police Station CID (Crime), Aizawl on Thursday for further legal action.

Mizoram’s state government is extremely concerned about the continued smuggling of illegal substances.
