Two ULFA-(I) Cadres Apprehended In Arunachal

Guwahati: Two cadres of the proscribed United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) have been arrested by the security forces in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The two cadres were nabbed from near the India-Myanmar border of the district.

The duo has been identified as Surjit Gogoi and Shyamol Baruah.

According to reports, both members of the banned organisation allegedly attempted to enter India through Myanmar but were apprehended by security personnel.

Both of them were reportedly taken to India from the outfit’s Myanmar-based camp.

The ULFA-I cadres who were detained have been handed over to local police for further interrogation.
