Guwahati: In a horrific and heinous act, unidentified bike-borne miscreant hurled acid on a 17-year-old schoolgirl in the capital city Delhi on Wednesday.
The incident took place at around 7:30 am in Dwarka district of Delhi.
In the CCTV footage recovered, the girl can be seen strolling down the side of the road when two bike riders splashed acid on her face and fled the scene immediately.
The girl ran instantly as she felt the acid has been thrown at her. The younger sister was with her at the time of the incident.
According to Delhi Police, they received a call about the acid attack on a girl in the Mohan Garden area at around 9 am.
One person was taken into custody in the case, according to Delhi Police.
The girl has been referred to Safdarjung Hospital as she has suffered severe burns.
