Union Budget: Capital Expenditure to increase by 34.5% to ₹5.54 lakh crore for FY 2022

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Budget 2021-22 speech proposed to increase the government’s capital expenditure by 34.5% to ₹5.54 lakh crore this year.

Of this, ₹44,000 crore will be given to Economic Affairs Department while ₹2 lakh crore will be given to states and autonomous bodies, the Finance Minister added. The capital expenditure for 2020-21 is seen at ₹4.39 lakh crore.
