Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Visit Assam Tomorrow

Guwahati, 24 May: Union Home minister Amit Shah to visit Assam on May 25. Home Minister to engage in a number of significant initiatives during his visit to support regional development and address job concerns. At a press conference on May 23, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma discussed the highlights of the impending visit and outlined the significant activities that would be carried out, those are:

The National Forensic Sciences University’s (NFSU) Changsari campus will have its foundation stone laid during one of the visit’s major ceremonies. Scientists from South East Asia, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal will be able to receive full forensic training at this cutting-edge institution which will be the tenth of its type in India.

Forensic Education: To provide a qualified workforce in the field of forensic sciences, NFSU Guwahati will offer Bachelor’s and Postgraduate degree courses in a variety of forensic subjects. This will improve the region’s capabilities and develop forensic science throughout the nation.

Home Minister will also preside over the distribution of 44,703 appointment letters, a landmark occasion for the jobseeker youths of Assam. This fulfils the government’s pledge to provide 1 lakh jobs by creating the state’s largest ever distribution of jobs under one roof.

Chief Minister noted that the government has already provided 41,920 jobs and that hiring for an additional 22,776 positions will shortly begin. The appointed posts for the chosen individuals will be available between June 1 and June 15.

Flexibility in Postings: The government plans to introduce an act that would permit new recruits to be posted in any department as needed to provide effective governance and flexibility in job placements. This step attempts to maximise the impact of the additional staff and optimize resource allocation.

Chief Minister emphasized the importance of these efforts, highlighting how they may spur growth, increase employment opportunities and solidify Assam’s position in a number of industries.
