United Committee Manipur Condemns Office Burning, Calls for immediate Action

Northeast Desk, 24th February: The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has strongly condemned the recent burning down of its office and demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators responsible for the act.

Expressing grave concern over the incident, the UCM has urged for a thorough investigation to ensure swift justice and accountability.

The committee emphasized that such acts of violence and vandalism undermine the peace and harmony of the region, urging law enforcement agencies to act swiftly.

Nahakpam Shanta, the organising secretary of the United Committee Manipur, asserted that the state government should intervene and ensure that the culprits receive appropriate punishment for their actions.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 24, when a group of miscreants burnt down the UCM office located in Lamphel, Imphal West district.

Sources indicate that the incident took place around 12:40 am, following a blast reported outside the DM College at Thangmeiband in Imphal West on Friday, February 23.

The blast site is reportedly in close proximity to the office of the All Manipur Students Union (AMSU). Sources suggest that the blast occurred at approximately 9:25 pm.
