UP Election: Ex- BJP MLAs to Join Samajwadi Party

Guwahati: The eight MLAs who have recently quit the Bhartiya Janta Party are likely to join the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Friday.

At least nine BJP MLAs have resigned in the last few days, claiming that the party has done nothing for the state’s and country’s disadvantaged and marginalised people.

Dharam Singh Saini, the Minister of Ayush, and MLAs Mukesh Verma and Awasthi Bala Prasad all resigned from the party on Thursday.

Only a few days before the UP elections, the resignations and decisions were made.

The first candidate lists for the elections have been released by Congress and the SP-RLD coalition.

According to reports, Congress has named 125 candidates, while the SP-RLD alliance has named 29.

On the other hand, the BJP has chosen 172 candidates.

It may be mentioned that Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister, is also expected to contest from Ayodhya.
