Guwahati: At least six persons and three others of a marriage party injured in a road accident in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday.
The accident took place late on Friday near Ganwaria trisection on the Tulsipur-Barhni National Highway.
The six deceased identified as While Basant (32), his wife Amrita (28), Laxman (40), Wadi (35) and Shadab (26) died on the spot, Ankit (13) died in the hospital while the injured have been identified as Shiv Prasad (52) and Durga Prasad (26) and Umesh (13).
According to reports, Umesh condition is critical and has been shifted to a hospital in Lucknow for better treatment.
Reportedly, the victims were travelling from Laxmanpur to Bhagwanpur in Gasadi police station area.
The collision took place between an SUV and a tractor-trolley.
A jeep, too, rammed into the SUV on its rear end, reports further added.
It may be mentioned that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and legal action has been initiated into the matter.
