Guwahati: With the COVID-19 cases rising in the state, the Assam Government has now made it mandatory for fully vaccinated persons to get tested on arrival in the state through Air and Railways.
The decision was made on Friday and in a notification, the Government of Assam announced that an earlier order of exempting fully vaccinated passengers from mandatory COVID-19 testing at airports and railways stations on arrival has now been withdrawn.
The decision related to this has been taken after it was found that people who were fully vaccinated with both doses have also been found to be COVID positive.
The government in its notification stated that strict containment measures including continuous screening of incoming passengers through airports and railway stations are being conducted in the state of Assam to contain the spread of COVID-19.
