Water Pipeline Burst in Maligaon, Entire Area Submerged

Guwahati, 29 May: A significant water pipeline burst below the Maligaon flyover which is still under construction in Guwahati city on Monday morning.

The issue came to light as the state government’s responsible authority was working on the flyover’s ongoing development. However, it wasn’t known what caused the pipeline to burst.

Earlier on Thursday, a Gammon JICA water supply main line pipe burst  in the Kharguli area of Guwahati which swept away multiple vehicles and destroyed the neighbouring homes where several families have recently been left without a home.

After the water supply pipeline burst incident in Kharguli a women lost her life and injured many6 nearby peoples and the situation is still dangerous in the area.

The families were given shelter yesterday at Joypur Primary School after being left stranded in Kharguli’s Joypur after a water pipeline burst.

The water supply pipeline burst at Kharguli claim the life of a women who have been identified as Sumitra Rabha.

Additionally, at least 19 people of the area sustained injuries which caused several two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles to get washed away. Those injured are currently receiving treatment.

The force of the water was so much that it also caused damage to several nearby homes, knocking down walls and foundations which quickly forced several residents from their homes and left them without a shelter.
