Why PM Narendra Modi has asked Opposition leaders to visit NE?

Guwahati: The opposition leaders were urged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the Northeast once and observe the region’s growth.

PM Modi criticised the group and claimed that the Northeasts of your (the Congress) generation and this (the BJP generation) were very different in response to a query from the opposition in the Lok Sabha.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi said, “I want to say to the opposition leaders to visit Northeast once…witness the northeast of your generation and this generation.”

Further, the Indian Prime Minister claimed that travelling to the northeast is comfortable thanks to National Highways built with modern technology, as well as good train and aviation links.

The PM added that after 75 years of Indian independence, the northeast had seen at least 75,000 militants who had opted for violence return to society and start peace negotiations with the government.

Speaking about Tripura, Prime Minister Modi stated that thousands of people have seen “pukka” dwellings and he is pleased to share in their joy.

“When I spoke about the Heera scheme to the people of Tripura, I told them Highways, railways and airways all will be developed and today Tripura is witnessing the development in infrastructure under the Heera scheme,” said PM Modi.
