Guwahati, 23rd July: A young woman from Manipur was discovered dead in Guwahati, shrouded in mysterious circumstances, as reported on Sunday.
According to initial reports, the lifeless body of the woman, identified as Rebika Thaodam, was found hanging with a noose around her neck at her rental accommodation in the Rupnagar locality of Guwahati.
Rebika Thaodam, hailing from Manipur, had been residing in Guwahati on rent.
In a significant development, the family of the deceased has filed a complaint against one Rohit Saikia, suspected to have been in a relationship with Rebika Thaodam.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the two were involved in a romantic relationship for the past one-and-a-half years.
As the investigation proceeds, the Bhangagarh Police took Rohit Saikia into detention to further probe the incident.
The authorities are currently engaged in uncovering the truth behind the tragic demise of Rebika Thaodam and are closely examining all aspects of the case.
