Guwahati: Two persons including a man and a woman died and five others injured in a road accident in Nagaon district of Assam on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the morning hours in Hatibandha area under Sulung Police Patrol Post of Kaliabor sub-division town.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a tempo in which they were traveling collided with a goods carrier tempo coming from the other direction.
Reportedly, the injured persons were immediately rushed to the Tezpur Medical College Medical and Hospital for treatment.
The injured persons have been identified as Jannatur, Mahibur Rahman, Arifool Hussain, Masinum Rahman, and Anwara Begum.
Meanwhile, the deceased woman has been identified as Masuda Rahmatullah, while the identity of man is yet to be ascertained.
Reports further claimed that the passengers were on their way to Kalibor from Tezpur at a fast pace.
However, the Tata Magic was travelling from Guwahati to Tezpur.
It needs to be mentioned that three persons among the five injured is said to be in a critical condition.
