2 more COVID deaths reported in Sikkim, total death tally touches 45 mark

Sikkim reported two more COVID deaths. The two deaths include one 40 year old male who was admitted to STNM on 2nd October. He was shifted to ICU on 3rd but he succumbed to Covid induced pneumonia. Another one 45 year old male who tested positive via Rapid Antigen test at CRH. He was admitted to STNM around 3am on 4th October but died at 6am. He also died of covid induced pneumonia as was as respiratory distress.

Meanwhile, there are 10 patients in the ICU at the moment. Out of the 43 positive cases today, maximum cases are from Gangtok (20) and Melli (9). One staff member of the Viral lab at STNM along with three primary contacts has tested positive resulting in shortage of staff for RTPCR tests. Public are requested not to go for tests unless absolutely necessary for couple of days. The total COVID death tally has now reached to 45 in Sikkim.
