300 Bags of Illegal Coal Seized in Assam’s Goroimari

Guwahati: The forest department confiscated 300 bags of illegal coal from Goroimari in South Kamrup in the early hours of Friday morning as part of an operation against illegal coal smuggling.

The department initially started the operation after learning that a coal truck was approaching. The forest department initially struggled to take control of the truck but after tracing the tier’s footprints, they succeeded.

According to reports, 300 bags of illegal coal were seized by forest officers at the Brahmaputra crossing in Barakhat, Goroimari. But the Goroimari forest department was given possession of all the illegal coal.

No traces of victims were found. However, Nurul Hassan Saikia assumed control of the entire case and the entire department is handling the issue according to protocol.
