Guwahati: The state government of Manipur has suspended four police officers for allegedly “misusing power and corruption.”
A commanding officer of the Manipur state disaster response force (SDRF) is among the police officers who have been suspended.
Informing this, additional DG of Manipur police Clay Khongsai said that the chief minister’s office (CMO) received accusations that the Manipur SDRF commanding officer was receiving money from personnel in lieu of providing them unlawful leave.
Following this, an investigation was initiated which discovered that the majority of the employees were on unauthorised leave.
The suspended Manipur SDRF commanding officer has been identified as Zakiruddin.
Mreover, three other Manipur police officers have also been suspended for helping Zakiruddin in his corrupt activities.
