7 Suspected Human Trafficking Victims Rescued In Assam

Guwahati: Assam Police has rescued at least seven persons, suspected to be the victims human trafficking bid from Rangiya in Assam’s Kamrup Rural district. 

The seven persons were rescued from Kariyara near Rangiya rail junction. 

While two of them hail from Jharkhand and Tripura, three others are residents of Udalguri, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia in Assam. 

According to reports, the alleged victims include a woman and a child as well.

Meanwhile, the police reported that they had previously busted a human trafficking ring in the same location. However, it is yet to be established if both the cases are connected. 

So far, no one has been arrested.

Further investigation is underway.
