Assam: One AK 47 and cannabis seized at Lumding Station
Guwahati: Assam Police seized one AK 47 gun and along with a magazine at the Lumding Station.
During a search operation in Agartala Weekly Express train. The number of the train is 15625 and the train was on its way to Agartala and the arm was found in the General class of the train in DL 1.
The police officials informed that the gun was found inside a luggage bag in which the gun was wrapped with a blanket.
The police officials informed that while doing the daily checking inside the train they found one suspicious bag and recovered the gun.
In another operation in the same train the police officials further recovered around 11 kg cannabis.
However, no information found about the accused involved in the case.
It may be mentioned that earlier on March 31, Assam Police has arrested two Naga persons and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions in Sivasagar district of state.
The arrestees have been identified as Aatok Longni who is a resident from Dimapur and Wetitemjena Ao hails from Naginimora, both situated in Nagaland.
According to reports, the arrest took place in the Bihubor area of the district.
The police officials further seized one 22 pistol, two bullets and one motor bike from their possession.
Meanwhile, both the arrested persons are currently being investigated by the Bihubor Police Officials.
