Drugs worth Rs 13 crore seized, four arrested in Manipur
Guwahati: Four persons was arrested and drugs worth Rs 13 crore seized in three different incidents by the Manipur police along with personnel of other security agencies on Tuesday.
In the first incident, 52 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar weighing 2.121 kg and carrying a market value of roughly Rs 4,24,20,000 were recovered.
The suspected brown sugar was seized from a person identified as W Mathuhema who is a resident of Manipur’s Senapati district.
In the second incident, 55 soap cases of suspected brown sugar weighing 2.293 kgs, valued at around Rs. 4,58,60,000, were seized.
The police arrested two people from the Senapati district of Manipur identified as H Wilson and Solomon.
The operation was conducted by the Tengnoupal police and members of the 20 Assam Rifles battalion.
In the third incident, a person identified as Peter Hemkhomang Baite of Moreh was arrested with 53 soap packs of suspected brown sugar weighing 2.194 kg and valued at over Rs 4,38,80,000.
According to police, the overall worth of the recovered drugs is around Rs 13,21,60,000, based on NCB guidelines.
Meanwhile, three different FIRs have been filed at the Tengnoupal police station.

53 soap cases of suspected brown sugar weighing 2.194 kg, valued at about Rs.4,38,80,000 from one Peter Baite (26 years) of Moreh.The total value of the above seized drugs calculated as per NCB norms is about Rs.13,21,60,000.
Cash reward was also handed over to the team.
