Guwahati: Two persons died on the spot in a road accident on the day of Rongali Bihu in Sarabhog in Barpeta district of Assam.
The two deceased identified as Ansuma Ramsiari (18) and Moha Boro (18). Both were residents of Benchimari Jopagao in Nalbari district.
According to reports, the incident took place when a two-wheeler registered with the number AS 14 K 3551 ran into a truck parking at the National Highway 31 resulting the death of the two bikers on the spot.
However, after the incident took place the truck along with the driver escaped from the spot. The truck is registered with the number NL 01 AA 4141.
It may be mentioned that accidents like this have also occurred at the highway because of the trucks parked for loading bamboos on the road.
It is learnt that Karim, a carrier trader from Palengbari, has been managing the administration and running the carrier business on the national highway for two to three years.
