Guwahati: A human trafficking racket has been busted by the police in Guwahati of Assam on Friday.
The racket has been busted by the police in Guwahati’s Satgaon area.
One person has been arrested by the police in connection with the case.
The arrestee identified as Sabina Yasmin.
According to reports, Yasmin has been arrested for her alleged link with the racket.
Reportedly, Yasmin was on the run after being arrested in connection with a case filed with Doboka Police in the Hojai district.
According to police, “Earlier, during a raid at her apartment in Hojai, we had discovered 25 numbers of passports that were considered to be duplicates or manufactured using bogus documents. She is a part of a ring that recruits women from all around the state under the guise of providing jobs outside the country, only to traffic them illegally.”
Yasmin’s accomplices Giyasuddin, Zafar and Kamal Uddin were already arrested.
It needs to be mentioned that the women whose ‘fake’ passports were discovered previously at Yasmi’s home are currently being tracked for by police.
