Mansukh Mandaviya Reviews Mock Drill for Covid-19
Guwahati: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya paid a visit to the Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi on Tuesday to assess the simulated exercise being conducted to make sure the hospital infrastructure is prepared for Covid-19 administration.
He engaged in a casual conversation with the department heads and staff at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital. He patiently listened to the many suggestions made by the heads of various departments, physicians, nurses, and the heads of security and sanitation services as they spent about an hour discussing quality hospital management, clinical procedures, infection control measures, sanitation procedures, and the delivery of patient-centered, high-quality healthcare.
They discussed their experiences contributing to 24-hour services throughout the pandemic. Mandaviya recommended the HoDs to hold weekly meetings with their staff, visit all departments physically, and assess their performance to ensure the greatest results. He also commended the medical professionals for their outstanding job during the outbreak.
Mansukh Mandaviya urged everyone to behave appropriately and warned against becoming complacent. He underlined the need to maintain vigilance, avoid disseminating unreliable information, and maintain a high level of preparation.
Dr Atul Goel, Director General of Health Services, Dr B L Sherwa, Medical Superintendant, Safdarjung Hospital, and heads of various departments including sanitation were present on the occasion.
During his visit, the union health minister said, “I recently reviewed the Covid status and preparedness for its prevention and management with state health ministers. Mock drills are being conducted across the country today to review the preparedness for management of Covid, for which clinical readiness at hospitals is crucial. Government as well as private hospitals are undertaking mock drills today.”
