RSS Leader Arrested in Assam’s Golaghat District After Wife’s Complaint of Threats

Guwahati, 28th July: In a startling turn of events, a leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was reportedly arrested following a formal complaint lodged by his wife at the local police station in Merapani, located in Assam’s Golaghat district.

The complaint lodged by the wife alleges that the RSS leader, identified as Dibyajyoti Saikia alias Latu, made serious threats against her life using a pistol.

Prompt action was taken by the authorities, and Dibyajyoti Saikia was taken into custody. The police also seized a 7.56mm barrel pistol along with three live rounds found in his possession.

The arrest was made after the leader’s wife approached the police and provided a written complaint detailing the threats made against her. According to her statement, a heated argument between them at their residence escalated, during which Dibyajyoti Saikia brandished the firearm, causing fear for her safety.

The police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the facts surrounding the incident and gather evidence to support the case.
