Rahul Gandhi Challenges PM Modi on China’s New Standard Map
National Desk, 30th August: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has weighed in on China’s newly released “2023 Edition of the standard map,” which lays claim to disputed regions including Arunachal Pradesh, Aksai Chin, Taiwan, and the South China Sea. Rahul Gandhi has called for a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in light of this development.
Rahul Gandhi stated his position as he left for Karnataka, adding, “I have been arguing for years that what the PM said, that not one inch of land was lost in Ladakh, is a lie. The entire Ladakh region is aware that China has broken the law. This map problem is a major one. The land has been taken away. PM should address the issue.
The map, which has sparked controversy, was officially released on Monday and presented on the website of the standard map service hosted by China’s Ministry of Natural Resources.
