Guwahati – The Secondary Education Department has suspended Ashok Choudhury, headmaster of Gasbari High School, for negligence in conducting examinations, following a significant lapse on the first day of the HSLC Examination 2025.
The suspension order, issued by Secondary Education Director Mamata Hojai, came after delays in the distribution of question papers at the school’s designated examination centre. The decision has been implemented with immediate effect to prevent further disruptions.
To ensure a smooth examination process, authorities have appointed Muktaram Patowary, headmaster of Gopalthan Regional High School, as the new examination centre supervisor. His immediate task is to oversee the remaining exams and restore order at the centre.
Confirming the development, Kamrup Inspector of Schools, Tapan Kalita, emphasized the department’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process. He assured that strict measures will be taken to prevent similar lapses in the future, ensuring fairness and discipline in the state’s secondary education system.
