AIUDF issues Three Line whip to its legislators for Rajya Sabha election
Guwahati: The All-India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has issued a three-line whip to its legislators, making attendance at the Rajya Sabha Biennial Election for the Council of States from Assam a requirement.
In letters issued to the legislators, the Indian National Congress (INC), All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), CPI(M), and Raijor Dol (RD) in the Assam Legislative Assembly have jointly fielded a candidate for the polls.
The party stated this and instructed all legislators to attend the Assam Legislative Assembly Campus Central Hall and vote exclusively for jointly fielded candidates.
Members of the AIUDF are required to produce their ballot to their party’s authorised agent.
The Three Line whip has also been personally served to each member of the party.
It further added that the Whip’s noncompliance would result in disciplinary action under the Indian Constitution and the All-India United Democratic Front’s constitution.
Ripun Bora has been nominated for the Rajya Sabha elections set for today by the AIUDF, Congress, Raijor Dal, and CPIM.
