Guwahati: The rider of a two-wheeler was injured on Wednesday in Kaziranga after being hit by a security escort vehicle in Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog’s convoy.
The incident reportedly occurred in Assam’s Golaghat district at Hatikhuli, close to Kaziranga. The collision was caused by a vehicle in her convoy striking a scooter from behind.
According to reports, the scooter’s rider was seriously hurt in the collision. Bystanders informed that the vehicle had caused the mishap and had left the scene.
The victim has been identified as Soneswar Sonowal.
However, it has come to the fore that Finance Minister Ajanta Neog was not in the convoy at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, Kohora Police along with Bokakhat Police intercepted the vehicle causing the accident at Bokakhat.

The victim has been admitted to a hospital where he is receiving medical care. Locals also voiced their displeasure that a minister’s vehicle caused an accident and fled the scene.
