Anti-Modi Posters Surface in Delhi, 44 FIRs Registered & 4 Held
Guwahati: Delhi Police on March 21 filed 44 FIRs and arrested four people including two owners of printing presses after discovering posters with the message “Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao” placed on walls and poles in many locations throughout the National Capital.
At least 2,000 posters were removed and another 2,000 were found from a van that was intercepted by Delhi Police.
A senior police official said in an interview with a national newspaper that they had arrested a man after stopping a van that was leaving the AAP offices on DDU Marg in IP Estate.
The arrested person when later questioned, acknowledged that his owner had instructed him to transport the posters to the AAP’s headquarters and that he had already done so the day before.
Further investigations are being conducted and three more people have been apprehended.
The AAP did not provide an immediate response.
According to the police, two printing presses received orders for 50,000 of these posters each and between March 19’s evening and March 20’s early morning staff members of the presses taped some of them up. The owners have been taken into custody as they did not include the names of their printing presses on the posters.
