AP: 7 killled 45 injured in road accident, PM announces ex gratia

Andhra Pradesh: At least seven killed and 45 injured in road accident when a bus fell off a cliff and into a ravine in late night on Saturday Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

The incident occurred in Bhakrapet area of the district. However, the injured people were immediately rushed to nearby hospital.

It may be mentioned that Bhakarapet is located only 25 kilometres away from the temple town of Tirupati.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the incident and announced ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the kin of the deceased.

The PMO office twitted, “Pained by the loss of lives in a tragic bus accident in Chittoor, AP. Condolences to the bereaved families. I hope the injured recover soon. The next of kin of the deceased would be given Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF and Rs. 50,000 would be given to the injured: PM @narendramodi.”

It needs to be mentioned that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.

I may be noted that the private bus was carrying a wedding party of 63 people from Dharmavaram in Anantapur district to a village near Nagari in Chittoor. The bus was on its way via Ghat Road when it fell into the Aduputappi valley.
