Guwahati: In a gut-wrenching incident, a three-year-old girl was allegedly hacked to death by her father in Udaipur sub-division of Tripura on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Smita Kumari Chauhan. She was allegedly hacked to death at a brick kiln.
However, the accused father has been identified as Shiv Kumar
According to reports, Kumar attempted to cover up the girl’s death by setting fire to her body but his co-workers prevented him.
When his wife was reportedly engaged in some work, the accused took his baby out of their room.
The accused repeatedly hacked his daughter with a shovel, eventually killing her.
Following the incident, police officials reached the spot and arrested the accused.
It may be mentioned that the accused committed the offence while under the influence of alcohol.
