Assam: 3 Ansarullah Bangla members arrested from Tripura

Guwahati: At least three persons arrested for having alleged links with the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), also called Ansar Bangla  an Islamic Jihadi  organization in Bangladesh.

The three arrestees were identified as Abdul Kasim, Hamid Ali and Imran Hussain respectively.

According to reports, the Bongaigaon Police arrested the accused ABT members from Tripura.

Moreover, it was further reported that Bongaigaon police took the ABT members into custody from the custody of Jatrapur Police Station in Tripura.

Meanwhile, the accused ABT members currently are under the police custody at Bongaigaon Sadar police station.

It may be mentioned that soon after arresting the accused, police has initiated legal action into the matter.

It is to be noted that since January these ABT members have been residing in Abhayapuri’s Jogighopa and kabaitari areas.

Reports further claimed that Ansarullah Bangla Team works for Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent Organization.

Moreover, the ABT members were reportedly working as sleepercells in Bongaigaon.

Earlier, on Saturday six persons have been arrested including a Bangladeshi national for having alleged links with a Jihadi outfit of Bangladesh having affiliation to Al-Qaida in Indian subcontinent on Saturday.

The arrestees identified as Md Suman alias Saiful Islam is a resident of Bangladesh, Taimur Rahman Khan from Howly while Khairul Islam, Badshah Suleiman Khan and Noushad Ali is a resident of Kalgachia town in Barpeta district.
