Assam: 600 kg Burmese Supari seized in Cachar
Guwahati: Assam Police seized 600Kg of Burmese supari and one person in Cachar district on Friday.
During a patrolling in the district, I/C Lailapur intercepted one Maruti Vehicle with the registration number AS-11B- 3191. The car was reportedly coming from the Vairengte area of Mizoram and recovered 600kg of suspected Burmese supari.
Sharing the news on Twitter Cachar Police wrote, “Today 28/01/22 @330hrs during patrolling I/C Lailapur intercepted one Maruti Vehicle, coming from Vairengte (Mizoram) and recovered Burmese Supari@600Kg also 1(one) person apprehended. Legal action is being initiated.”

Similarly in another incident, the Cachar Police intercepted a truck and seized 26 tons of suspected Burmese Supari.

Legal action has been taken and further investigation is underway.
