Assam: AAP announces its third list of candiadates for GMC election
Guwahati: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday announced its third list candidates for the upcoming Guwahati Municipal Elections. After a massive win in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is eyeing to repeat its victory in the state too as the party had earlier announced to contest GMC.
AAP will contest in all the 60 wards with 99 per cent candidates to be picked from among the residents of respective wards.
While addressing a press conference at its party office in Ganeshguri, Rajesh Sarma, State in-charge of AAP said, “We have announced the names of the candidates for 37 wards. 10 candidates have been announced in the first list, 15 in second list and 12 in third list.”
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, AAP shared a list of 12 candidates. It quoted Aam Aadmi Party, Assam has announced its 3rd list of candidates for the Guwahati Municipal Corporation Election 2022.

It needs to be mentioned that Guwahati Municipal Corporation Election will be held on April 19, 2022.
The Assam State Election Commission has decided to hold the election to the 60 wards of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Election on April 19, 2022.
Moreover, the voting will be held from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. The total number of voters in the municipal elections is 6,98,829. The total number of polling stations is 69.
The voting will take place in EVMs provided by the Election Commission.
The Covid protocol must be followed during voting and counting ballots. From 9 p.m. to 8 a.m., no campaigning will be permitted. Only 30 national political party leaders can run the campaign.
It is to be noted that women will be given 50% of the seats in municipal elections. Two wards would be reserved for Scheduled Caste women, while four wards will be reserved for Scheduled Caste Men. The highest amount a candidate can spend is Rs.2.5 lakh.
