Assam and Chhattisgarh Aim to Strengthen Ties and Promote Development

Guwahati, 31st July: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on July 31 at Lok Seva Bhavan to discuss strengthening relations between the two states and their collective contributions towards national development.

In their meeting, the ministers deliberated on various strategies to enhance cooperation and development between Assam and Chhattisgarh. They emphasized the importance of working together to foster a stronger, more developed India.

Following the meeting, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma shared his thoughts on the microblogging site X, stating, “I met the hardworking Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vijay Sharma, today in my office at Lok Seva Bhavan. There was discussion on further strengthening the relations between Assam and Chhattisgarh and the contribution of both the states towards developed India.”

In related news, on July 30, Chief Minister Sarma announced a new initiative aimed at boosting tourism in Assam by addressing the critical issue of limited hotel accommodation. He noted that despite Assam’s numerous beautiful destinations, the lack of sufficient hotel infrastructure has been a significant barrier to tourism growth.

The initiative is expected to focus on expanding and enhancing the hospitality sector in Assam, making it more attractive and accessible to tourists. This move is anticipated to unlock the state’s potential as a prime tourist destination, thereby contributing to its economic growth and development.
