Assam CM: Guwahati will be known for one of the best healthcare services in Southeast Asia
Guwahati: The Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Bhoomi Pujan of a new medical college in the Kalapahar area of Guwahati announced that Guwahati will be a hotspot for ‘Healthcare’ in Southeast Asia.
Guwahati now has the ‘Guwahati Medical College and Hospital,’ which is being expanded to include a total of 3000 beds for improved healthcare services. The Assam Chief Minister is now looking for a golden triangle model with the new AIIMS and medical college.
“It will be like a ‘Trimurti’ adding to the state’s health facilities with 3000 beds at GMCH, the AIIMS starting to give medical services shortly, and the new medical college,” Sarma said.
“We’re also looking to strengthen facilities for hospitals like Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital so that they can help the big three hospitals provide good healthcare,” CM Sarma stated.
Assam will begin lifting COVID-19 limitations on the 15th of February, as announced by Chief Minister Sarma. Today, the government issued a notice saying Mandatory COVID testing on arrival in Assam has been upgraded.
