Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Inaugurates 11 Missing Language Textbooks

Guwahati, 30 May: Record in golden letters in the history of the Missing community. The missing language has been included in the basic curriculum at the end of fifty years of the claim made by the Missing Agam Kebang and Missing National Organization since its birth. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday officially launched the Missing Agam Kebang (MAK) in the presence of education minister Ranoj Pegu in Gogamukh.

These books have been published by the Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation for the students of pre-primary and primary schools.

The closing ceremony of the glorious golden jubilee year of Mising Agam Kebang, the only organization of Mising language and literature and the 24th Triennial General Convention were held at Gogamukh in Dhemaji district with programmes from May 28.

CM Sarma announced that Assam would flag off NEP at UG (Undergraduate) and PG (Master’s) level at a function of Gauhati University on June 3.

In the context of his speech, Chief Minister Sharma paid homage to the late linguists Taburam Tide, Nahendra Padun and the people who gave birth to Mising Agam Kebang. Chief minister then attended the inaugural session of the 15th biennial session of the Bengali Yuva Chhatra Federation held at Bhairabpur in Silapathar.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, MP Pradan Barua, MLA Bhuwan Gam, Amiya Kumar Bhuiyan, Missing National Organization and many other dignitaries were present as the chief guests.

Assam CM Himanata Biswa Sarma twitted, “As envisaged in the NEP, we are committed to encourage education in our ancient indigenous languages. We released text books for elementary and primary students in the Mising language at the Mising Abong Kebang Conference.”
